At the end of the month, Casey Dubie will release her debut album, Into The Moon, out October 26th. Her lead single, “Confetti,” was released on September 14th. The song is a synthy, catchy meditation on romance and nostalgia. In the chorus, Casey zips through moving lyrics. “These memories are my confetti, Throw them up in the air, in a polychrome cloud, Piece by piece each with a history, Hovering for a moment, till they all come falling, down down down.” The song’s charm comes from its upbeat feel against its sad, reflective lyrics.

If “Confetti” is any indication, her first studio album will feature a much wider range of instrumentation than her only previously released music, which is entirely acoustic driven. With the help of producer Micah Tawlks, Casey’s sound is taking on a less folky, more modern, indie pop feeling, similar to Haim, Misterwives, and San Fermin. Casey will be releasing two new music videos as we get closer to her album release date, in addition to upcoming tour dates.
