Belmont On U.S. Tour with New Album and Video

Chicago’s Belmont have just released a self-titled debut full-length album, out yesterday through Mutant League Records. For the past two years, they have traveled non-stop with Have Mercy, Hot Mulligan, Capstan, and more in support of their previous release, Between You & Me. [Listen here]

Now they are back at it again on a U.S. headline tour with Such Gold, Southpaw (8/13-8/25), Intervention (8/25-9/5), and Chief State (9/6-9/14). We had a chance to catch their show last night at Cobra Lounge, a laid back venue and bar on the west side of Chicago that showcases emerging rock acts from across the country. The energy in the room was explosive, with rapid stage dives left and right, a mosh pit that made even the most seasoned punk rocker a little nervous, and – you can’t forget – the actual band.

Belmont is a solid act through and through. They played older favorites, like “Overstepping,” “731,” “Solitude,” and “Minuscule,” plus a slew of new tracks that had the crowd going just as hard. But what you find on the new album is exactly what you’ll see at the show. Fast, unrelenting guitars, clean vocals, and a certain force that comes when bands are 100% in their element.
