Let's face it, we all need new music to listen to at least every other week. With more and more bands creeping out of the wood works within every genre imaginable, it can be difficult to card through all the options available at your fingertips. (Thank you Youtube, Last.fm, and Spotify for making this easier!) We've put together our top 5 recent punk rock tracks released over the last few weeks. Enjoy.

1.  BELMONT - "ALBERT"

Belmont's Between You & Me EP was released in 2016 via Mutant League Records, immediately propelling them forward and turning them into the biggest pop punk band to exit Chicago's front door step. Over the past two years, they have toured with bands like Have Mercy, Hot Mulligan, and Capstan, and are currently on a full U.S. tour with Such Gold in support of their new self-titled full-length. "Albert" is one of their strongest singles, alongside other powerful tracks such as "Pushing Daisies," "Empty," "Hollowed Out," and "Interlude." Belmont will leave you wondering "where have these guys been all my life??"

2.  TAKERS LEAVERS - "FIST TO WALL"

Post-hardcore band Takers Leavers formed in 2016 with lead vocalist David Baqi (guitar), Karem Idrees (bass/vocals), Robby Friend (guitar), and John Gee (drums).  Their major influences include Circa Survive, Every Time I Die, and Thrice. Check out their upcoming EP Break & Bloom, out on September 7th. "Fist to Wall" was the first song the band wrote for the collection, which focuses on letting go, coping with loss and anger, and facing consequences.

3.  SEND REQUEST - "ANTISOCIAL WAR"

Last Friday, pop punk band Send Request released their new album, Perspectives, via SharpTone Records. They recently unveiled a video for “Antisocial War,” the third single off the new record. While the theme is quite dark - taking a look at a frightening encounter the vocalist had that almost ended his life - it is also quite the energetic jam. It's infectious, reminiscent of a certain 90's puck rock band dear to our hearts.

4.  HOMESAFE - "SUITS AND TIES"

Homesafe are from Oak Lawn, IL, a small southwest suburb outside of Chicago that isn't known for much of anything. We know, we googled it. They released their debut album One on June 29th with Pure Noise Records, marking a turning point for the band musically. Fans may be surprised at the deviation from the harder sound on previous tracks like "Nothing Left To Lose," "Stranger," and "Mountain," yet there are still slower jems throughout the new album with a softer bite.

Homesafe is made up of Ryan Rumchaks (vocals/guitars), Tyler Albertson (vocals/bass), and Eman Duran (drums)

5.  DELTA SLEEP - "SANS SOLEIL"

Delta Sleep's Ghost City was put out this year on August 10th and offers 11 tracks in total, written over the course of two years between tours in Europe, Japan, and Mexico. Their album offers guitar driven melodies, relentless bass, shouts and chants with a determined yet continuous sound.

Delta Sleep is Devin Yüceil (guitar & vocals), Glen Hodgson (guitar), Dave Jackson (bass), and Blake Mostyn (drums). Similar artists include Tangled Hair, Invalids, Feed Me Jack, and Hikes.
