24 Must-See Artists at Lollapalooza Chicago Day One

Next weekend, Lollapalooza will kick off its four day festival in Grant Park on July 28th, bringing in 400,000 fans and a full lineup of artists including Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, and Green Day alongside 170+ additional performances.

Known for a wide range of genres— alternative rock, heavy metal, hip hop, and electronic dance to name a few— Lollapalooza has called Chicago home for 15 years and is located on the bustling lakefront.

Jazmine Sullivan, who recently earned best female R&B/pop artist at the BET Awards, is among those set to perform Thursday’s lineup, in addition to Lil Baby, Billy Strings, and Zhu, with heavy metal band Metallica closing out the night. Indie rock will be well represented by The Wombats, Caroline Polachek, and Still Woozy, while alt-pop will draw attention with Ashnikko and Tove Lo.
