Four years in the making, Elder Brother’s newest album has stayed inside the studio for long enough.

With the album dropping on May 18th, the indie-rock duo Elder Brother is looking to break the sophomore album curse and once again impress with their energetic and methodic sound. Their latest release, entitled Stay Inside, will be the band’s follow-up to Heavy Head in 2014, the debut album that solidified their musical prowess. Made up of vocalist Dan Rose, previously of Daybreaker, and guitarist/vocalist Kevin Geyer, previously of The Story So Far, this dynamic duo has created a layered and emphatic sound that continues through Stay Inside.

The album includes the single “No Reason”, and more recently, “Sway”, which is accompanied by a music video. Both tracks heavily emphasize the indie-rock nature that the duo brings to the table, with “No Reason” being a little more rock than indie, and “Sway” being a bit more indie than rock. “No Reason” has a more chaotic sound, whereas “Sway” is undeniably more emotional and dramatic. This is only further capitalized within the music video, a black and white production that follows an agonized man through mundane moments of his life. While the tracks themselves may have different strengths, each bring intense lyrics and a riveting sound that show how Stay Inside is just as powerful as their debut.

In an attempt to keep the indie-rock genre alive and kicking, Elder Brother are swiftly paving their own path with an emerging fan base following closely behind.
